A famous football player with a disorder, and could it hurt autograph seekers?
As a kid, I remember reading in a sports magazine, a story about autographs. They talked about Ty Cobb prefering to use green ink. And, on the topic of "green", Boston Celtic Bill Russell not signing, even for his fellow teammates that wanted team pictures signed.
One story that was humorous, involved Herschel Walker. It was his rookie season, and he was at a baseball all-star ceremony, the night before the game. A bunch of kids were outside waiting for autographs, and as they approached him, they simply asked, "Are there any famous people inside there?" He laughed and walked away.
He then realized, that as a football player (I think being a rookie had something to do with it also)....you have a helmet covering your face, it you might not be recognized as much as other athletes.
I thought of this humorous story when I heard on a sports station, that Walker has "multiple personality disorder." Now, I don't know much about this disorder, but in my selfish nature, I wondered how it would hurt any autograph seekers that approach him. Then, in my attempts to always look for the humor in situations, I wondered....when he signs an autograph, will it say "Luke Sky Walker," or some other personality?
Who knows. I'll keep ya posted.
