A cool autograph item.
I never watch Antique Roadshow. The few times I've stopped on it, it's fairly interesting. I end up just wondering why I had such a small family, that never had an attic filled with cool treasures.
Sometimes I see them get items completely wrong. Books autographed by a few of the Beatles, they said were worth $100,000. When, you can get all 4 Beatle autographs on some things as love as four grand.
Last night at 2:30 a.m. I was going thru the channels. I stopped on PBS and watched as someone had a salesmans prospectus (not sure if I even spelled that right). Someone in his family, sold these books door-to-door. And, this book about Indians, was signed by U.S. Grant, Wild Bill Cody, Abraham Lincoln's son, and a few other big names. It was so interesting to look at. You could see the signatures were done with one of those old pens, because of all the curves and the style.
They guessed it would sell for between $8,000 and $12,000 at an auction. I'm guessing they got that one right.
