The band, not talk show host, on Stephen Colbert Show
My girlfriend called me and said that she heard on the radio show Loveline, actress Cindy Margolis talking with host Stryker about the autograph collectors out front. Stryker mentioned them being creepy. She said they were all nice, and she thanked them for being out there. Now that's the attitude.
On TV the next night, it was the Canadian power trio Rush, making their first American TV appearance in like 25 years on The Colbert Report. Stephen Colbert kept joking about how he didn't know who the band was, but that his producer loved them, and he lost a bet and had to have them on.
When he asked them a series of weird questions, like "What's your favorite color?" It was hysterical. He then told drummer Neil Peart, known as one of rock 'n rolls best ever, that he thinks with his large collection of drum kits, that he might have a dependency, and that the show was really an intervention for him.
But the funniest part was when he said, "Oh, here's a question from our producer Jimmy. He asks 'Will you sign my host?'" They all agreed. One asked where, with Colbert saying "The hand will be fine." Another member asked, "Who do I make it out to?" With Colbert answering "To Jimmy." He then replied, "I better not see this on eBay."
Great bit.
The band then performed Tom Sawyer live.
