A South Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Jasper Cureton lifted a temporary stay that could have held up the sale of James Brown's belongings. On Thursday, Christie's auction house had planned to auction 320 items, which include a blue satin cape and a red jumpsuit (this sounds like a Superman auction).
Alfred Bradley and Buddy Dallas, the singer's former business managers, had argued the auction should be stopped, claiming the court shouldn't have been able to appoint new trustees to handle the estate.
Brown died on Christmas Day in 2006 of heart failure at age 73. Unfortunately, he didn't do what I had always hoped he would. And that was that his last words would be "I don't feel good."
