The U.S. Open ends up in my backyard.

So, I've gotten a few calls from friends across the country, asking if I've been getting autographs from people at the U.S. Open. That's because it's in Torrey Pines, here in San Diego, where I live. I'm not a big golf fan, so when an event like this happens, I'm just angrier that 60,000 people make traffic miserable for me.

As always, I hear Phil Mickelson (who lives in San Diego), has been great about signing autographs when he's out and about. Tiger has been terrible (although one server in town told me in years past, he was always very nice, and a good tipper...but, if you're rich and famous, don't you have to be a good tipper?)

The autograph story I did hear, was model Cindy Crawford in a restaurant and signing golf caps and tickets for fans.

There was another attractive woman. She wasn't asked to sign autographs, but was taken away. You see, she was walking in a sand trap before 7 a.m. She told a tournament marshal that she wanted to see what it felt like.

The grounds crew had to rerake the sand.
