Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas sold the slip of paper owned by Jerry Schilling, a member of Elvis' "Memphis Mafia". He had gotten the fab four to sign a 5" x 8" piece of paper from The King's personal stationary, and dated the event "8/27/65." This was right before a show at Balboa Stadium, here in my hometown of San Diego. And...it sold for $60,000.
The lads heard that Elvis was filming Paradise, Hawaiian Style in Hollywood.
On the night of August 27, 1965, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr arrived at Elvis’s house in Bel Air.
It was also rumored that Elvis himself greeted them at the door and kiddingly said, “If you guys are going to stare at me all night,” joked Elvis, “I’m going to bed!”
Although I think it's an interesting part of music history, I hardly think it's worth the money it brought in. You can still find signed Beatles albums for around $15,000.
