It involves that four letter word: eBay

The David Ortiz Red Sox jersey that was burined in the new Yankee Stadium, and was brought up all ripped to shreads, is now being auctioned to benefit the official charity of the Red Sox....The Jimmy Fund, a children's cancer charity.

They began a one-week auction on eBay, selling the #34 jersey. The starting bid was $500.

And, who would want a ripped up jersey? Well, baseball fans especially, love historic type of items. And, this story did make some big news.

But, the Red Sox staff isn't stupid. They sweetened the pot with: a new jersey, and two seats to a Sox home game.
