One of the entertainment magazines in the racks right now has a story about Jimmy Kimmel buing Gary Coleman's pants. Now, when I saw Kimmel talking about it at midnight on Jimmy Kimmel Live, I thought he might be joking. He said he paid $500 for them on eBay, after a bid of over $200,000 fell thru.

The pants were also autographed, which he never mentioned. Coleman apparently sold them to raise money for kidney dialysis.

Kimmel seems to appreciate and laugh at what fans do for things regarding celebrity. He often has a foreign cab driver on, that snaps photos of famous people he sees, and often asks them to sign the pictures. Half the time, the cabbie doesn't even know who the celebrity is, just that they are famous. Part of the fun is listening to him trying to pronounce the names.

Kimmel had a huge smile when the pants finally arrived, as they came down to a lot of fanfare on the stage. He smiled into the camera and assured Gary Coleman that his pants had a safe place in his studio for as long as he had his late night show.
