My attempts to get PJ Harvey's autograph, and debating whether to try again.
When someone refuses to sign for me, I can't rally to try for them ever again. Even though I know that's a bad approach. Some actors or musicians won't sign one time, but will another.
When PJ Harvey came to town, one man was there with his son that was about 4. He had a rare photo. I was there. She got out of the van, and didn't say a word to us. She didn't sign. And when the guy said "Will you sign later? Maybe later?" She just walked away.
Sure, the drummer signed for me. But, how incomplete is that on a CD????
At another show, a couple came from their wedding (still in tux and white dress), and they were let backstage, where PJ signed their wedding guest book. SO, maybe she does occasionally sign, I dunno.
So, she's coming back to town. I don't think I'll try for her.
I remember when she opened for U2 here, and the entire crowd booed. I thought that was rude. And, I dug her music.
Thinking back, I'm glad they did.
